Plant material will be fertilized in early Spring to optimize plant growth and color and speed recovery from Winter stress. Granular organic slow release fertilizer will be applied at a rate of 3 lbs per 1,000 sq. ft. of bed area and 3 lbs per inch of trunk caliper will be applied prior to the Spring mulching application.
